How TaxTruce works
Three steps. We tell you who will call.

1. Tell us what is going on
Pick what is happening, about how much you owe, who you owe, and your ZIP code. We never ask for your Social Security number, bank info or IRS login on our form.
2. Confirm your phone with a code
We text a 6 digit code to the number you give us. This proves the number is yours. It stops people from typing in someone else's number, and it means your request goes to real firms, not robots.
3. A tax firm reviews your situation
A tax resolution firm calls or texts you back. Each firm says it has a CPA, enrolled agent or tax attorney who handles IRS work. They look at your facts before they can tell you what may help. You never have to hire anyone.
How TaxTruce makes money
TaxTruce is free for you. When you agree on our form, we share your request with the tax resolution firms TaxTruce works with (see who they are). They pay us for referrals, and that is how we pay for this site. Each firm sets its own fees and must tell you about them.
Who will contact you
- The tax resolution firms TaxTruce works with
- They may call or text, and may use automated tools
- Reply STOP to any text, or tell the firm to stop calling. They must honor it.
- We are not the IRS. You can always contact the IRS yourself for free at irs.gov.
You can also ask us to stop sharing your info, and read who we are. The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy have the details.
Questions about getting help
How long does the form take?
About 2 minutes. You confirm your phone with a text code, then a tax firm calls you.
Why do you text me a code?
It proves the phone number is yours, so nobody can sign you up without asking.
Will you ask for my Social Security number?
No. We never ask for your SSN, bank, card, IRS login or date of birth.
